What’s New on Netflix in June 2024

This June, Netflix is set to deliver a diverse lineup of new content, including a steamy comedy starring Glen Powell, an action-packed revenge thriller with Jessica Alba, a fresh season of David Letterman’s interview series, the continuation of “Bridgerton,” the next chapter of a beloved fantasy series, and a documentary on a legendary cheerleading team.

One of the highly anticipated returns is the third season of “Sweet Tooth,” which premieres on June 6. This fantasy series, inspired by Jeff Lemire’s comic books, explores a world ravaged by a virus and the emergence of human-animal hybrids. The story centers on Gus, a half-human, half-deer boy searching for his mother. “Sweet Tooth” originally debuted in June 2021, with its second season following last June.

“Hit Man,” a romantic comedy directed by Richard Linklater, will be available on June 7. The film, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival to rave reviews, stars Glen Powell as a nerdy police contractor who unexpectedly finds himself working as an undercover hitman. The cast also includes Adria Arjona, Austin Amelio, Retta, Sanjay Rao, Molly Bernard, and Evan Holtzman.

David Letterman returns with a new season of “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” on June 12. After a brief hiatus following the special episode with John Mulaney in April, Letterman is back with a full slate of interviews, featuring guests like Miley Cyrus and Charles Barkley.

Fans of “Bridgerton” can look forward to the concluding part of season three, which arrives on June 13. This segment includes four episodes—“Tick Tock,” “Romancing Mister Bridgerton,” “Joining of Hands,” and “Into the Light”—that promise to further explore the budding romance between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington.

On June 20, Netflix will debut “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders,” a new series by Greg Whiteley. This documentary offers an in-depth look at the iconic cheerleading squad, showcasing the dedication and skill required to be part of this renowned team and exploring its significance in American culture.

Jessica Alba stars in “Trigger Warning,” set to release on June 21. This action-packed revenge film marks Alba’s return to the big screen since 2019. She plays Parker, a Special Forces commando who inherits her father’s bar in their hometown. As she investigates her father’s sudden death, she discovers the town is now under the control of a violent gang. Directed by Mouly Surya, the film also features Mark Webber, Jake Weary, Anthony Michael Hall, Kaiwi Lyman, and Hari Dhillon.

In addition to these new releases, Netflix will be adding a variety of movies to its library in June, including “Aftersun,” “1917,” “A Million Ways to Die in the West,” “Ali,” “Baby Boy,” “Big Fat Liar,” “The Breakfast Club,” “Burn After Reading,” “Dune” (1984), “Kicking & Screaming,” “La La Land,” “Land of the Lost,” “The Lego Movie,” “National Security,” “Pokémon Detective Pikachu,” “S.W.A.T.,” “Tangerine,” and “Two Can Play That Game.”

With such a diverse array of new content, Netflix subscribers will have plenty to look forward to in June 2024.
